As a special token of their gratitude, the women of Assistance League of Indianapolis awarded digitalKnowledge with the 2011 Star Award at their annual fundraising gala on April 9, 2011.
This award is given each year to individuals and/or companies that have significantly impacted the success of the non-profit organization. These individuals and/or companies must also display excellent corporate citizenship and uphold a strong set of values.
digitalKnowledge has been a strong supporter of Assistance League of Indianapolis since its start in 2003, each year providing financial support as well as in-kind donations of time and talent. In 2009, digitalKnowledge engaged in a significant pro-bono project for the organization, completely re-doing the website and training members how to manage the site efficiently and effectively. In addition to the pro-bono projects and financial support that digitalKnowledge has given over the years, dK employees have taken on significant roles within the organization by heading up the grants committee and helping with the public relations committee.
"The partnership between digitalKnowledge and Assistance League of Indianapolis is a relationship of mutual respect with a shared goal. It is a wonderful example of how a business and non-profit can partner in their efforts to help economically and socially disadvantaged people in the Indianapolis community," said Susan Groen, the Director of Public Relations for Assistance League of Indianapolis.
digitalKnowledge also supports many other philanthropic organizations throughout the Indianapolis community and strives to uphold Foster McGaw's principle of "Give more than you receive, leave more than you take."
